The star-shaped linear lighting system concept designed for the Wanneroo Library refurbishment is an outstanding solution that combines aesthetics, functionality, and high-quality illumination. The system features a central hexadecagon hub and 16 arms of varying lengths, forming a star-shaped layout.
To create the proposed concept, our product design team worked on developing a custom round Aluminium profile (Dowel 80) to align with the designer’s vision and maximize the spread of light. This innovative profile design not only allowed for the seamless integration of both direct and indirect lighting but also incorporates a simple profile join system, ensuring a unified and uninterrupted illumination throughout the entire star configuration.
The project involved significant scale, with the longest arm spanning over 17 meters and the total system length extending beyond 33 meters. We gave meticulous attention to detail to achieve uniformity, reliability, and high-quality illumination across this extensive reach.
To ensure longevity and quality, the lighting system utilizes high-quality European Tridonic LED light engines. The integration of Tridonic drivers with DALI compatibility provides enhanced flexibility and control over light output. As a result, the DALI system enables Library staff to illuminate individual sections, offering convenient control options.
A streamlined wiring system with four circuits extending from the central hub to the arms made the installation of the system easier. This design minimized the need for additional power cables, simplifying the installation process while maintaining the integrity of the system.
The architectural textured white powder coat finish of the system blends seamlessly with the half-round opal diffuser. This combination optimizes light dispersion, creating an inviting and well-illuminated environment within the library.
Overall, the star-shaped linear light system stands out as a unique and innovative concept that transforms the library space. It not only provides functional lighting but also adds an aesthetic element to the space while creating an inviting and visually appealing atmosphere for library visitors.
